About George
George van Wensem started work in public practice in 1986, gaining experience at both CGA and CA firms in Vancouver, BC. He obtained his CGA credentials in 1988, and started his first solo practice in 1989, in White Rock, BC. He obtained his CPA credentials from the State of North Dakota in 2005, to broaden his knowledge base to include US accounting, business and tax principles.
George takes pride in getting to know each clients situation, and loves to help them grow their businesses, save taxes, and create wealth.
George and his wife Shelly, fulfilled a long-time dream by moving to Vancouver Island in 2011, where they are enjoying living on their three acres of peace and tranquility. George and Shelly’s son and daughter-in-law live in nearby Oak Bay. The Vancouver Island branch of van Wensem and Associates is run from George’s home in Saanichton. He is always available to his clients "live and online" and splits his time between the Mainland and Vancouver Island offices.
George enjoys cycling, hiking, curling, reading and tending the yard in his spare time.

Carol Vukets
Carol Vukets has been working with George for over ten years, providing clients with timely and relevant financial advice and reporting. This is Carol’s second foray in public practice. In between she held a number of Controller positions with a variety of companies, both in Manitoba and British Columbia.
Carol takes pride in understanding each client’s situation and visits clients in their own environments when possible.
Carol and her husband Jim reside in Cloverdale with their two youngest children- twin boys, Evan and Matthew. Their oldest, Brittany, has left the nest and the suburbs to live in the big city.
Carol enjoys spending weekends with her family in Whistler.

Lynn Kerslake
Lynn Kerslake has been working as part of George’s team since 2005 and is the office manager at van Wensem & Associates. Lynn keeps us all organized by making sure all deadlines are met and greets all our clients at our front counter in Surrey. She is also the primary liaison with the Canada Revenue Agency.
Lynn’s office experience began in 1998 in the medical device industry, first as an office manager and then as an executive assistant.
Lynn and her husband like to spend time at their getaway in Cultus Lake. Lynn has two grown daughters and enjoys travel and keeping active.
